Results of Joplin state audit to be revealed Tuesday

In less than 20 hours, the results of the state audit of the City of Joplin will be revealed.

State Auditor Nicole Galloway is scheduled to release the results during a public meeting 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Corley Auditorium on the Missouri Southern State University campus.

As noted earlier, City Hall sources told the Turner Report that the audit report is highly critical of Councilman Mike Woolston's involvement in real estate deals in the area of 20th and Connecticut. Woolston told the Joplin Globe recently that he is being investigated by the FBI.

The Globe noted that the auditor is investigating the allocation of more than $300,000 to the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce for economic development purposes.

Thorough coverage of the audit report will be featured Tuesday night on the Turner Report.
