Hartzler response to State of the Union

(From Fourth District Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler)

Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler (MO-4) has released the following statement in response to President Obama’s State of the Union address:

“It is disappointing that President Obama has rejected an opportunity to reach out to and cooperate with Congress, preferring instead to outline an ill-conceived vision that continues to expand the reach, size, and scope of the federal government. The simple fact is that our country cannot tax and spend itself into prosperity. Government must get out of the way and allow the American people to pursue their dreams.

The president’s big-government policies won’t grow the economy, they will redistribute it. Too many Americans have seen their paychecks shrink, their premiums skyrocket, and their livelihoods lost because of the failed policies of the last six years. We can do better. I am hopeful the president will work with us as we continue promoting bipartisan solutions that will grow the economy and get Americans back to work.”

She is just giving us more of the same. How about working together to help the middle class? Oh right, we don't make massive campaign contributions.
