Video- C. J. Huff: The cost of the ribbon-cutting is worth it

This report from KOAM's Lisa Olliges includes the following:

The superintendent says sponsors donated funds to cover the fifteen thousand dollar cost of the ribbon and dedication.

Chairs, tables and draperies have been donated by local churches. And to those who might criticize the cost, school officials says it's worth it.

Huff says," It's a once in my lifetime opportunity for everything that we've been through and this new high school, this school symbolizes a lot of hard work on behalf of a lot of people. Giving everybody an opportunity to participate in an event like that is really what drove the idea."

Public information officer Kelli Price says of the ribbon, "It represents the path of the storm and our long united journey together. And part of the reason it's so long is we want all of our community and the students to put their hands on the actual ribbon."

This video is from the 6 p.m. newscast. During the 5 p.m. newscast, Olliges noted that the idea for the ribbon came from administration. Huff told Joplin High School teachers recently that the ribbon was his idea because he is so competitive.

So, which one is the liar? Is it C.J. or the person who told The Joplin Globe that a JHS student is responsible for the ridiculous ribbon?
