Marshfield teacher accused of having sex with student

A Marshfield teacher was charged with statutory sodomy today for a sexual encounter with a 16-year-old.

Johnna Feazell, 46, is being held in the Webster County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bond.

The charges come after investigators say the girl’s parents previously raised concerns about Feazell's relationship with their daughter.

Superintendent Mark Mayo says this is Feazell’s 15th year with the Marshfield School District. She’s an 8th grade English teacher and has coached junior high girls track, softball and basketball.

"She’s always been a good employee for the district," Mayo said in an interview on Friday.

Investigators say the mother of the 16-year-old student found a strange cell phone in her daughter’s room this week. It had only one contact, which was listed as “sweetheart.”

A detective says the number belonged to Feazell. The investigation led to the girl saying she and Feazell had a sexual encounter in Feazell's home the previous Friday night.

Police and prosecutors says this wasn’t the first time for concern.

"This child’s parents had already had dealings with this defendant, saying, 'Don’t contact our daughter.' They had issues with her showing up at the child’s sporting events, riding her bicycle by their house, contacting her by text and letter, apparently in 2013, according to the probable cause statement," said Webster County Prosecuting Attorney Danette Padgett.

Investigators say Feazell received written disciplinary action from the school district in June and October 2013 because of her contact with the girl, as well as two years ago, when the girl was 14 years old.

And Mayo says she has always been a good employee for the district?
